About 7 nights for the price of 5 or 14 for the price of 10 at Fundu Lagoon Resort and Spa, Africa.

Rooms start from £225 per person per night on an all-inclusive basis

Only accessible by boat, remote, peaceful Fundu Lagoon lies on Pemba Island just 4 degrees below the equator off the coast of east Africa in the Indian Ocean. Part of the Zanzibar archipelago formerly known as the Spice Islands, abundant Pemba has historically been untroubled by visitors but is now well-known for its beautiful beaches and world-class dive sites, with their steep drop-offs, untouched coral and plentiful marine life.

Gracing a tropical 40-acre site on the island's beautiful Wambaa peninsula, Fundu Lagoon Resort & Spa is comprised of 12 hillside and beachfront rooms and 6 suites, including 4 superior suites. All of the generously furnished rooms enjoy breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean with private outdoor terraces with sun loungers, while the 6 suites have private plunge pools and are located directly on the beach. Luxury tents coupled with traditional Zanzibari roofing, hand-crafted local hardwoods and furniture, and beautiful local fabrics make for a natural and stylish take on modern ethnic design.

Amenities include 3 bars, an excellent restaurant with a daily changing menu, a PADI certified dive centre, a fishing centre, a beautiful infinity edge pool and the calming Fusion spa, all connected by wooden walkways and sandy paths. As well as some of the world's leading dive sites, activities available include snorkelling, deep sea fishing, dolphin safaris, sunset cruises, local tours and a comprehensive selection of watersports.

The archipelago also provides a wealth of historical interest to soak up; day-trips include the traditional Spice Markets and Misali Island, which the pirate Captain Kidd is reputed to have used as a hide-out in the 17th century.
